I would KILL to have versions of @docgeo and myself puttering around a tavern in game. In my dream version, the NPCs wink out of existance when he and I walk in, but as that's probably too much trouble, I'll settle for promising never to go into that Tavern with my PC to confuse people...
First among the Smitten. The few, the proud, the slightly squished.
Very interesting and that's giving me some thoughts, @darggie. We would definitely like to do some things where players name items (and even invent them), but naming a Unique item yourself upon getting it would be super cool too. Or gain the ability to change the name when you get it from your vanquished foe?
I have been Playing a lot of Dungeon Defenders lately and getting to rename an item after you have completely upgraded it is a fun perk.
I really like the idea that gear becomes name-able after enough use of it or upgrading. It helps that item mean something, instead of getting a sword and naming it "Destroyer of Butterflies!" and then killing a whole bunch of Bears with it you might spent a week or more with a piece of gear farming mats and then upgrading the sword and realizing you have killed so many Lizard you realize your sword has become LizardBane, Slayer of Lizards!
And a fine 2cents it is, @Drakythe. Been talking to @michaeldko about this very thing. You guys have given us some good food for thought, particularly about personalization in the gear world. I love that idea, and there will be no shortage of awesome gear, but adding that extra personal oomph would be super cool.
Giving names to (apparently) friendly characters that are going to be somehow part in your story are the ones I would like to name. A name slightly related to the content he is related to could be a nice laugh or a memory help to when you're doing a new class all over.
That's true-- either forever or just for your adventure would be an interesting thing. The first is planned, the second is something for us to think about!
If I can't write the words... Could I name a spell? And write it's description?
I kind of like the idea that instead of mumbling incantations, Magic requires enthusiastic gesticulation. So whenever Wizzie wants to cast a spell he has to drop it like it's hot. Work it, work it good.
That way if it's a wizard on wizard battle (ew...), it actually ends up looking very much like a dance off. Between old people. How amazing would that be?
IN THE MOTION CAPTURE, cuz I'm gonna do it, WHOOOO!
Not really. You don't want to see that. But rest assured, there will be interesting animations for many of the wizardly mage-y active Abilities. And, of course, magic (which you know I prefer spelling "magick" but my other creators over here at Gunslinger Studios always poo-poo that).
